If your problems are severe and not improved there are different course of action to take. This will always be a weakness for you and the best thing you can do is your pelvic floor exercise (forever) but you want to improve the situation as much as possible for the future. They will be able to inform you what level the prolapse is and what type it is (bladder or bowel). They can examine you and advise you on exactly what extent your issues are (the prolapse are graded). What you need to do is go to your GP and 'ask' for a referral for womens physio. My baby was back to back and I couldn't get her out so her head was popping in and out until they lost he heart beat and cut me open. I even know a few people with kids younger than mine who are pregnant again. Other people who have children seem to go back to normal really quickly. Is this just how my body is going to be for the rest of my life? Is this normal after child birth? Can anything be done? I feel a bit stupid going back in case she just says keep doing pelvic floor. My baby is now 15 months and I still can't use tampons, I hardly have sex because I can't really feel anything other than things getting moved about and although I don't need the toilet every 5 minutes I still can't hold it in for long when I do need. When my daughter was 8/9 months I was back again (for another reason) and mentioned I still had the other issues and she replied it takes a while for your body to recover after pregnancy, your body will never be the same again and to just keep doing what you are doing. She told me to do pelvic floor 3 times a day and gave me pills for the bladder issue. The Dr said I had terrible pelvic floor, some nerve damage causing me to feel the need to empty my bladder every 5 minutes and a slight prolapse. When my baby was around 5 months old I had a smear test and the nurse made an appointment for me to see the Dr. After the birth of my daughter I had problems holding in my wee, had an uncomfortable bulge feeling (almost like I had swollen vaginal lips) and tampons fell out.
